As more users turn to their phones, tablets and other mobile devices to view the web, having a mobile-optimized site becomes more important than ever. Allowing your site’s visitors to have a seamless visit, without having to make the screen larger or smaller, or tapping the wrong button because it’s too close to another button, helps increase the likelihood that they’ll¬†value your site and the services or products you offer.

That’s been true for some time, and now there’s another big reason to optimize your site: Google will start putting “Mobile-friendly” in search¬†results for sites that have been optimized to display well on mobile devices. In this Google blog post, which I first read about on Macworld, Google engineers hint that in the future, they may also give higher ranking in search results to mobile-friendly sites.
